A typical use case: an older iPhone without LiDAR, or without a sufficiently capable chip, can still capture in aPrehliadky, but cannot compute a model. The frame package is sent over AirDrop to a Mac, recomputed there, and the finished model returns to the iPhone as an .f3d package, including any findings and measurements carried over from the earlier model to the new one.
Higher detail
The iPhone computes the model only at low detail. The Mac offers medium, full and custom detail (a polygon cap, texture up to 16,384 px): a 3 to 5 times finer surface for measuring findings.
Larger scans
The Mac uses up to 1,500 frames; the iPhone captures up to 600 but computes from 200 (an Apple limit). Several packages dropped at once are processed in a batch, one after another.
Review and measurement
The app's second tab offers full-featured work with the finished model: orbit, zoom, measurement, findings marked directly on the skin, and a PDF report with certificate.
Findings transfer
After each recompute, camera poses are stored; on the next recompute they are fitted for yaw, scale and offset, and findings are carried over to the new model with an error on the order of millimetres.
Forensic preset
Processing presets Fast, Forensic (300,000 triangles, 8K texture, lossless; recommended) and Maximum (1 million triangles, 16K). Blurred frames are dropped, frames showing the target are kept.
Chain of evidence
A SHA-256 of every file, input verification before processing, a reconstruction record in the package and the report, and signing of the output package with this Mac's key. A PDF/A-2b report and a class A to D certificate.
